Aaron Garcia (1990, Chicago) is a Brooklyn based composer and guitarist. Aaron's music is heavily influenced by the DIY punk scene and actively aims to blur the lines between band/ensemble and song/composition. Aaron is the co-owner of indie label, people | places | records, the Sales and Marketing Assistant at Cantaloupe Music, and a founding member of multimedia collective, Transfer is Available. Aaron composes and performs guitar in this place is actually the worst, post-trees, small caps, and formerly, Guillemet


Aaron holds a Master of Music in Theory and Composition degree at New York University where he studied privately with Michael Gordon and Julia Wolfe. Aaron received his Bachelor of Music degree at Columbia College Chicago. His past composition teachers include Marcos Balter, David Reminick, Drew Baker, Tim Edwards, and Ilya Levinson. Aaron is a Bang on a Can Summer Festival 2017 alumni.


Aaron enjoys biking, sci-fi, video games, and vegetarian tacos. He lives in Brooklyn with his partner and two cats.
